Person in charge

He is the person in charge of the protection of personal information under Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25).

What we collect, and why

  • Your photos and designs: to print your glasses. Metadata (including your phone's GPS location) is removed as soon as you upload them.
  • Your name, email, phone number and address (collected by Stripe at checkout): to deliver your order and keep you posted.
  • If you request a quote (business): your name, your company or organization, your email, your phone number and the details of your request (occasion, quantity, date, project), to answer you and prepare your quote.
  • No account to create, no targeted advertising, no tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

  • Photos and designs that don't lead to an order: deleted after 30 days.
  • Files from an order: kept 12 months (for a reprint), then deleted.
  • Quote requests (business): kept 24 months, then deleted.
  • Invoices: 6 years, as tax laws require.

Who we share it with

  • Stripe (payment) — United States and Canada.
  • fal.ai (AI styles, only if you use them) — your photo is processed in the United States to transform it, then we bring the result back.
  • Canada Post (delivery): your name and address.
  • Our server is hosted in Québec (OVH, Beauharnois). Our emails go through Google (Gmail, with servers located in the United States, among other places).

We never sell your information.

Cookies

Technical cookies only: your cart (in your browser), an anonymous ID to limit AI creations per day, and your promo code if it came from a card. No advertising or audience-measurement cookies.

How we protect your information

On our end, only Jonathan Després, the person in charge named above, has access to your information and your files, and only for the reasons explained on this page. A question or a complaint about how we handle it? Write to bonjour@auboutduquai.ca: he's the one who receives it and answers you.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, or withdraw your consent, by writing to bonjour@auboutduquai.ca. We answer within 30 days. You can also file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
